Aside from Wisconsin residents being well-known for wearing ‘cheese heads’ at Lambert Field, the state is also popular for being a destination for students. It’s ‘Wisconsin Idea’ to give promotion to the advancement of not only universities in the state, but also uses the research from these institutions to better the lives of Wisconsin’s citizenry. The fact that there are several scholarships for Wisconsin residents aimed at helping students pay for college or grad school is in no way a surprise. For those that aren’t current residents of Wisconsin currently, but have plans to attend a school in the state, such as Milwaukee, Stevens Point, the University of Wisconsin in Madison, or Eau Claire, the Medical College of Wisconsin, or Marquette University, they may also be qualified for these scholarships for Wisconsin students.
