This year, the association will be awarding up to $4.1 million to over 670 University of Texas students. The Texas Exes Scholarship comes in three forms: The forty Acres Scholars Program, Chapters & Networks, and Named Scholarships. Forty Acres Scholars Program is awarded to groom and inspire young visionary leaders and also assist them in using their talents for the good of society. This Scholarship is open to high school students who have distinctive leadership roles and have excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. Chapter & Network Scholarship was established as a way to keep alumni of the University of Texas connect to the school. Chapters are a locally based group that engages alumni through community service, student development, business networking, scholarship fundraising events, and so on. Networks are international groups built around ethnicity, profession, or a strong liking to the University’s student organization that engages alumni through philanthropy and events. There are over 100 chapters and networks all over the USA, and the world that offers the scholarship to students from their local community. Named Scholarship was established by alumni, students, and friends of the university to serve as a memorial to loved ones, the school, and also to honor special interest groups.
